Gab_i
With a background in music technology and sound design, Gab_i explores a fusion of new musical aesthetics and electronic synthesis in experimental ambient productions. Within a sonic universe that is at once precise, soft, and tactile, the compositions unfold through richly detailed movements. Under the name gab_i he has released music on Glinted Records, including Glinted 01 and 01.5 in collaboration with GATELESS. Expect to be enveloped in electro-acoustics and washed over by well-balanced dub waves.
Rasmus Weirup
Mystical poetry merges with the hum of the harmonium and glitchy electronics in a soundscape drawing on avant-folk, chamber music, and dark electronic pop. Weirup’s debut album, I Bet You Never Had A Friday Night Like This (2021), has been described as “almost unclassifiable,” and the performance may well take on a similarly elusive character. In any case, audiences can expect a solemn intensity, an almost ecstatic experience where intimacy and the sacred merge.
Folker
The new Copenhagen-based group Folker draws from both the organic and the electronic. Their musical palette includes bird sounds, cello, autotune, drum machines, and distorted vocals. The result is a project full of contrasts, situated somewhere between art rock, folk, hyperpop, and ambient. A textured and dreamlike soundscape filled with improvisation and surprise awaits when Folker takes the stage at ALICE.
Miabella
Take flight when Miabella enters the stage, making space for both chaos and love. A vibrant and uncompromising underground ensemble that transforms the room into a sensory and explosive playground. Behind Miabella is composer and front figure Miamaja Vinther, who together with her band creates a creative crossroads between modern jazz, rock, avant-garde, and Nordic sonic traditions, melding choir, brass, distortion, and Danish-language lyrics into a free and ever-changing universe. Here femininity, power, and hysteria are explored with both wildness and vulnerability, and no two concerts are the same.
