Get to know ALICE’s five bookers through their personal playlists

The five bookers – Mero Cimen, Isabel Douglass, Winnie Nakaddu, Ulf Eriksson, and Susi Castelo – together form ALICE’s Music Group, and they live and breathe music. Now, they want to share that love with you! Each of them has curated a playlist offering a glimpse into who they are as individuals and music lovers. You’ll find everything from Brazilian funk and soul to a legendary Ethiopian keyboardist, an avant-garde ensemble from Canada, dance music from Cairo, Copenhagen math rock, and moving spoken word jazz.

Though each member has a strong individual profile, decisions in the Music Group are made collectively. They work based on consensus, allowing them to move beyond personal preferences and habits. Because what arises from conversations about music makes them both bolder and sharper – and raises the artistic bar.

What it gives and what it demands when the decision-maker has five heads and five different backgrounds, experiences, networks, and tastes, was recently discussed by Winnie Nakaddu and ALICE’s director HC Gimbel in the music program På Plakaten on Heartbeats. You can listen to the podcast here – the interview starts around eight minutes in.
