In recent years, ALICE has achieved impressive results in both the number of concerts and tickets sold. This growth has taken place despite building-related challenges that, for an extended period, left ALICE without a permanent base. Over the past year, ALICE has returned to newly renovated premises in Nørrebro and now stands with a strong music program and a healthy financial position.
“The board would like to thank H.C. Gimbel for his efforts over the past three and a half years. Under his leadership, ALICE has strengthened its operations, developed its organizational capacity, and in 2025 reached a record-high level of activity with around 300 concerts and more than 20,000 tickets sold. At the same time, a strong booking team has been established, and important initiatives have been launched, including the volunteer-driven ALICE Tunes In and Concert Hall Magic for school students.”
In the coming years, the board aims to continue strengthening ALICE’s development with a focus on its artistic profile, audience, partnerships, and the organization needed to support these ambitions. The strategy of making ALICE relevant to a larger and more diverse audience remains unchanged and will be realized through a strong, healthy, and sustainable organization across full-time staff, hourly employees, and volunteers.
“ALICE was established eight years ago through the merger of the venues Global and Jazzhouse. These eight years have been marked by major challenges, growth, and a consistently artistically strong and uncompromising concert program, realized with great passion and professionalism by ALICE’s many employees and volunteers.
Today, ALICE stands with a healthy economy, a strong artistic program, and an important position in Danish and international music life. The next phase is about building on that foundation and uniting efforts around an organization where employees and volunteers have clear direction, strong collaboration, and good conditions for success. This will be a central task for the coming venue director.”
The board is now launching the process of finding a new venue director.
