Ye Vagabonds IE

At the fore of a new wave of Irish folk

The group Ye Vagabonds are brothers Diarmuid and Brían Mac Gloinn. They are known for crafting beautiful vocal harmonies and playing old melodies. Come along and experience their soulful and deeply musical expression, that has put them at the fore of a new wave of Irish folk.

Diarmuid and Brían Mac Gloinn, the brothers behind Ye Vagabonds, are at the fore of a new wave of Irish folk. Though they grew up in Carlow, they moved to Dublin over a decade ago and still live there today. Ye Vagabonds are celebrated for their beautiful vocal harmonies and for reviving traditional tunes. They draw inspiration from the Irish province Ulster’s singing tradition, as well as from North American folk music… And if those references don’t ring any bells, they’ve summed up their sound like this: “brothers, old melodies, close harmonies.” A quick way to describe a sound that resonates deep within the soul.

Ye Vagabonds have been touring relentlessly lately as headliners and have opened for artists such as Patti Smith, Hozier, Phoebe Bridgers, boygenius, Dermot Kennedy, and Vampire Weekend. They’ve won “Best Track,” “Best Album,” and “Best Folk Group” at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards. This year, they’re releasing new material. Chances are that we’ll be lucky enough to experience it live when the Irish folk brothers take the stage at ALICE!
