American rapper, performance artist and LGBTQ+ activist Mykki Blanco has consistently challenged expectations since bursting onto the international scene in 2012 with the breakout hit “Wavvy”. Today, Mykki Blanco stands as one of hip hop’s most distinctive trailblazers, refusing to be confined by genre. Over the past decade, he has built a catalogue that moves seamlessly between hip hop, electronic music, trap, experimental pop and beyond, while carving out a singular, boundary-breaking path within a genre historically marked by misogyny, homophobia and transphobia.

Through an array of projects and collaborations, Mykki Blanco has also left a lasting mark on contemporary culture – appearing as the lead in Madonna’s “Dark Ballet” music video (2019), collaborating with Cody Critcheloe on the art film “No Leash” for Shayne Oliver’s Hood By Air, working with artists such as Kanye West, Devendra Banhart, Amnesia Scanner and Charli XCX, and touring alongside Björk, Major Lazer and Death Grips.
