The charismatic singer Majur has quickly become an unmissable name on the international music scene. Hailing from Bahia, she combines Afro-Brazilian traditions and spirituality with contemporary R&B, soul, blues, and rap tones. Beyond her music, Majur is a significant LGBTQIAP+ voice and made history as the first Black trans woman to grace the cover of Vogue. She first broke through as a guest on the Latin Grammy-nominated anthem “AmarElo”, sharing the stage with trailblazers like Emicida and Pabllo Vittar. Her star, however, shone even brighter following her remarkable international debut at Roskilde Festival 2024, and she has since performed at Brazil’s biggest festivals, including Rock in Rio.
Majur’s debut album “Ojunifé” (2021)—Yoruba for “eyes of love”—is a deeply personal journey exploring self-love, Black identity, and the power of community. The album fuses Afro-pop, soul, and R&B with African and Indigenous Brazilian sounds, featuring collaborations with artists such as Liniker and Luedji Luna. “Ojunifé” celebrates love, diversity, and cultural pride, speaking as much to the heart as to the dancefloor. Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in Majur’s soulful fusion of Afro-Brazilian roots, R&B, and pop when she takes the stage at ALICE this May.
