Lekhfa is the creation of Maryam Saleh, Maurice Louca and Tamer Abu Ghazaleh, three musicians who came of age in 1990s Cairo. Having each blazed their different paths through the alternative Arabic music scene with solo albums and acclaimed collaborations, the three musicians formed Lekhfa and released their first album in 2017, to international acclaim. “Remarkable Egyptian indie collaboration is a triumph” wrote The Guardian about the mesmerizing hybrid of soulful vocals, poetic lyrics, Arab roots and contemporary sounds. In 2018 the trio – whose lyrical fourth member is renowned Egyptian poet Mido Zoheir – played a brilliant concert at Roskilde Festival. In October they can be heard in the intimate surroundings of Alice with a full band line-up.
