Kosmonauci
The self-proclaimed boyband Kosmonauci breaks the boundaries between jazz, hip-hop, drum & bass, and improvisation in their distinctive music. With an instrumentation consisting of saxophone, bass, vibraphone, and drums, this young Polish band creates a soundscape that balances emotional melodies and complex rhythmic structures, inviting the listener on a cosmic, mind-expanding journey. Despite their short time as a band, Kosmonauci have already performed at several renowned Polish jazz festivals and garnered praise from both audiences and critics alike. Kosmonauci’s debut album “Sorry, nie tu” (2024) sold out even before its official release – a remarkable achievement that cements their position as one of the most exciting new bands on the Polish music scene. In June, they won the “Sanki” award, which highlights the most exciting musical talents in Poland. We are proud to present Kosmonauci at ALICE during Vinterjazz with their atmospheric jazz experiments and cosmic beats.
Raphael Rogiński
For over a decade, Polish guitarist Raphael Rogiński has enchanted music lovers with his magical sounds. Rogiński is known for his deeply present compositions and his interpretations of John Coltrane. When he visits ALICE during Vinterjazz, it will be to present his latest solo project “Talán” (2023). The album, whose title means “maybe,” explores the idea of constant movement – gaining something by giving up something else. The compositions were created over several years and are influenced by Rogiński’s deep fascination with the Black Sea and its historical, cultural, and mythological significance. Several tracks were composed in the Ukrainian Black Sea coastal city of Odessa, a meeting point between civilizations and cultures. With his guitar, Rogiński creates an intimate and close sound, and background noises and atmospheres from the recordings are deliberately preserved. We look forward to welcoming Raphael Rogiński to ALICE during Vinterjazz 2025.
The concert is part of Vinterjazz 2025 – a nationwide festival running from February 1-23. More info at www.jazz.dk.
