Fine
According to Politiken, Fine ranks among the finest vocalists in the Denmark. With her ethereal crossover sound, the Copenhagen-based singer, songwriter, and producer blends samples, acoustic and electric instruments into something that feels both familiar and dreamlike. Some may know Fine from the trio Chinah, where she served as both singer and producer. As a solo artist, she has moved away from the trio’s electronic universe and into an alternative guitar pop sound, referencing folk, bluegrass, shoegaze – and the unmistakable vibe of MTV.
Last year, Fine released her debut album, Rocky Top Ballads, on the label Escho. It’s a sonic world shaped by loose-wristed-head-bobbing drums, a wide range of guitar sounds, bass riffs, reverb-soaked atmospheres, and field recordings — all woven together by Fine’s exquisite vocals and heartfelt lyrics, which have drawn comparisons to Mazzy Star and Elisabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins. Fine is now back with new material, the singles “I Could” and “Run”. On the ALICE stage, she’ll perform with her band: Lola Hammerich (Baby in Vain) on guitar, Andreas Murga (Gorgeous) on bass, and Mads Muurholm on drums. We can’t wait to welcome them to our stage!
