On stage, the swiss-guatemalan artist Lorena Stadelmann, aka Baby Volcano, is a real force of nature. Above a pulsating bass and Latin American Rhythms, she sings and raps bluntly about doubting your own worth, while also showing teeth to the patriarchy. Her sound, that’s sexy and punky all at once, spans over musical genres such as reggaeton, chanson, hybridpop, rap, and hiphop. In French and in Spanish Baby Volcano expresses raw and unpolished emotion, as well as playfulness, humor, and good vibes. Because of this duality, Baby Volcano is an act you should watch our for for this year’s Copenhagen Jazz Festival!
With a background in modern dance and theater, Baby Volcano is known for her artistically ambitious, powerful, and avantgarde liveshows. She performed at Roskilde Festival in 2023 at the Platform-stage, and she has also performed at festivals such as Eurockéennes de Belfort in France, BadBonn Kilbi Festival in Switzerland, and Dour Festival in Belgium. Baby Volcano has recently put out her new EP ‘SUPERVIVENXIA’. With her uncompromising, unfiltered, and expressive music is pushing boundaries. That’s how volcanos are made as well, we suppose.
The concert is part of the Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2025, taking place from July 4th to July 13th at 120 venues throughout the capital. See the program at www.jazz.dk
