Tettix Hexer & Vio Lino
Tettix Hexer & Vio Lino challenge the interplay between sound and mythology. Both musicians are well known on the Danish underground scene, where they each work with production, electronic music, and a shoegazy musical expression. As a duo, they’re currently exploring a curious rabbit hole in Danish history: the events that unfolded when one of the Jelling Stones was spray-painted with the word “GELWANE” back in 2011. They describe their sound as “heartstrumental” – a wonderfully playful coinage that perfectly captures the atmosphere of their experimental performance.
upsammy
“Imagine a world where upsammy’s music is pumped into nurseries and kindergartens, shaping children from birth. It’d be a world without wars, where kindness reigned and malice was snuffed in the cradle,” wrote Pitchfork in their review of the Dutch dj and producer’s latest album ‘Strange Meridians’. Behind the alias stands Thessa Torsing, whose visionary electronic music creates kaleidoscopic terrains from trippy electronics, experimental drum and bass, and oddball techno. The result is a sound built from field recordings, scintillating melodies, and sparse molecular beats – settling into the nervous system like a vast, almost planetary calm. A quiet motion, a grand experience.
upsammy has collaborated with several prestigious labels and festivals, including Unsound in Poland and Rewire in the Netherlands. She is also a resident on NTS Radio and at the club Garage Noord in Amsterdam. At ALICE, however, she takes a step away from the club sphere and into an ambient, foggy world. For this evening, sound and visuals will be fused together into an immsersive experience created together with visual designer Tharim Cornelisse. upsammy’s music carries with it a rare attentiveness to the world around us. Through sounds and images, she invites us to places we may never have noticed before.
