Swiss-Moroccan multi-instrumentalist and producer Sami Galbi comes from the alternative Swiss music scene, but draws on his parallel musical influences to create a deeply personal sound. His childhood was shaped by the North African folk and working-class genres raï and chaâbi, while on the other hand, he has an unwavering love for club culture and electronic music.

With a playful approach to sound and production, Sami Galbi reshapes traditional music into a pulsating club atmosphere, turning up the tempo, synths and distortion – without losing touch with the melodies and stories underneath. His dance-inducing debut album “YLH BYEBYE” (Bongo Joe Records, 2025) has earned praise from outlets including The New York Times and Buzz Magazine. The album was produced by Galbi himself and mixed by Tunisian producer Ammar 808, who played a sold-out show at ALICE last year. When Sami Galbi takes the stage at ALICE this October, he will be joined by Inès Mouzoune, formerly of AMAMI, Baby Volcano and Rôshani, as well as drummer and percussionist Yann Hünziker.
