Mike Sheridan DK

Prominent figure on the Danish electronic music scene invites audiences into a spectacular release concert featuring the rare Cristal Baschet glass instrument

With his new album Touch, Mike Sheridan explores touch, presence, and the slightest shifts in sound through a cosmic, crackling dreamscape of analogue electronics and the rare Cristal Baschet glass instrument. For nearly two decades, the Danish composer, producer, and musician has moved curiously between club culture, experimental composition, and interdisciplinary collaborations — always guided by a uncompromising approach to sound. We are thrilled to present Mike Sheridan at ALICE this September for the release concert of his new album.

Since his debut album I Syv Sind (2008), Danish-Irish artist Mike Sheridan has established himself as a singular voice on the Danish music scene. Combining crackling electronic rhythms, organic textures, and atmospheric compositions, he has developed a distinctly personal sonic language. His work spans widely — from collaborations with Palle Mikkelborg, KÖLSCH, and the Danish National Girls’ Choir to compositions for film, theatre, and visual art. He has performed at DR Koncerthuset and Roskilde Festival and received a Robert Award nomination for his score to the acclaimed film Persona non grata (Hvor kragerne vender).

On Touch, Sheridan dives into a more tactile and intuitive musical practice. Rooted in his own experiences with dyscalculia and a fascination with early electronic pioneer music, he approaches sound as a physical experience rather than traditional composition. The album was recorded live using instruments that could have enabled an almost identical recording half a century ago — including a rare EMS-inspired PIN synthesizer and the spectacular and elusive Cristal Baschet, an instrument mastered by only a handful of musicians worldwide, including Sheridan himself. Across six compositions, Touch unfolds as a meditative and sensuous sonic space where melodies dissolve and rhythms drift freely. The album was recorded in Copenhagen and Berlin, the latter in collaboration with Rabih Beaini (Morphosis) as recording engineer. We are excited to welcome Mike Sheridan to ALICE this September as he presents Touch live.
