Uummannaq Kids
Uummannaq Kids is a music group composed of children from Greenland who live at The Children’s Home in Uummannaq. Music plays a vital role in the social pedagogical work at the The Children’s Home, fostering a sense of unity, calm, and belonging among the children. As the The Children’s Home’s award-winning leader of more than 30 years, Ann Andreasen, explained when receiving P2’s “Årets Ildsjæl” (Passionate Spirit of the Year) award, music helps the children feel connected and part of a community.
Inuanima
The duo Inuanima was formed in 2019 in Narsaq, South Greenland, by Aviaja Lumholt and Idor Rado. Since then, they have performed all over Greenland, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, the Faroe Islands, and Iceland, creating music inspired by Inuit drum and mask dancing. Aviaja Lumholt, who is Inuk and Danish, and Igor Rado, who has Balkan roots and is Danish, describe their music as a tribute to “the multicultural coexistence between nature and humans.”
Pamyua
Founded by the Yup’ik Inuit and African-American brothers Phillip Kilirnguq Blanchett and Steven Qacungatarli Blanchett, Pamyua creates music that celebrates and unites their musical heritage in a genre they call Inuit soul. Through music and dance, they honor their ancestors, history, and people. At ALICE, Pamyua will be represented by two of its members: Karina Møller, who is Inuk and Danish, and Phillip Blanchett. On stage, they will be joined by Kristoffer Jul on keys and bass and Anders Pedersen on drums.
