The Italo-Congolese singer and musician Laryssa Kim has gained recognition for her unique ability to weave together musique concrète, ambient electronica, and delicate vocals into otherworldly, dreamlike compositions. Born in Rome and later shaped by Amsterdam’s contemporary dance and physical theatre scene, she found her creative home in Brussels in 2013. There, she specialised in electroacoustic composition at the Royal Conservatory of Mons and shortly afterwards launched her eponymous live electronics project. Since then, she has released a series of notable works, including the soundtrack to Mobutu’s Game (2025) and her latest album Contezza (2024), a delicate and seductive collection of songs in Italian and French.

On stage, Laryssa Kim creates a deeply personal and almost ceremonial sonic universe. One moment, her voice drifts through the darkness like incense smoke; the next, it unfolds with warmth and soulful intensity. Around it, hypnotic soundscapes slowly emerge: field recordings whisper in the distance, minimalist trip-hop rhythms and melancholic beats pulse beneath echoing vocal loops, gradually transforming into fluid electroacoustic compositions.
