Psychedelic, imaginative, and unpredictable. Such is the sound of the boundary-pushing band Meridian Brothers from Bogotá, Colombia. A band that mixes numerous genres and twists them into new fantastic constructions. Pop, tropicalia, and Latin American folk are mixed with psychedelic jazz and avant-garde in an incredibly captivating way, and the Meridian Brothers also have a fantastic live reputation. We have witnessed this ourselves both at Roskilde Festival and on several occasions at Global and ALICE.
Meridian Brothers started in 2007 and have not stood still since. They have played countless concerts around the world at prominent festivals, have received excellent reviews, and have been hailed by several magazines as one of Colombia’s most interesting bands. Not least, they have released a long series of albums and are never afraid to experiment in new ways and bring Latin American folk into play in new constellations with quirky cumbia rhythms, bubbling synthesizers, and psychedelic song structures. Always in both an ambitious and humorous manner. The Meridian Brothers guarantee an entertaining and uplifting concert experience, so it is a great pleasure to bring the Colombian psychedelic heads back to Nørrebro.
