The HIRS Collective US + Jakobe + In Atlas

Three-in-once-queerpunkevening with room for both snarling at the patriarchy and dark disco sensibility

Hardcore chaos meets popanthems. Growls meet solidarity. Join in shaping a collective middle finger when the much-hyped the HIRS Collective, life guards of the punk scene Jakobe and rowdy In Atlas brings their intense, defiant, and battle-ready queerpunk energies to ALICE.

The HIRS Collective
They’re likely to sample Cindy Lauper and Shania Twain. But the HIRS Collective is anything but your typical dance party, as Undertoner noted in their enthusiastic review of the queerpunk collective’s intense show at Roskilde Festival last year. Performing on the Avalon stage, which was transformed into a hardcore venue for the festival’s opening day, the HIRS Collective mixed their hardhitting queer punk and pop-song interludes from a stage set up in the center of the tent. Yes, the HIRS Collective is for those with a high tolerance for chaos. It’s guaranteed to be an entertaining yet cathartic evening. For the HIRS Collective, their biting energy is inseparable from creating joyful and wild moments of connection with their audience. Let’s fucking go!

The HIRS Collective is deeply embedded in the leftist punk scene. As they put it themselves, they’re “a collective of freaks and faggots that will never stop existing.” Their declared mission is to fight for, defend, and celebrate the survival of trans, queer, poc, black, women and any and all other folks who have to constantly face violence, marginalization, and oppression. Their latest album, ‘We’re Still Here’, oozes of resistance. Featuring contributions from 35 different artists, the album embodies how seriously the HIRS Collective takes collectivism: Once you work with the Collective, you are the Collective. The title isn’t reserved solely for the two musicians who typically take the stage during their performances. They want to connect with everyone who comes into their world.

Jakobe
Soundvenue has named them the lifeguards of the punk scene. And Jakobe, a teenage Riot Grrrl punk band from Copenhagen, has indeed made a name of themselves on the local punk scene of Copenhagen with their unmatched we-don’t-give-a-fuck-energy. By the magazine Selvtægt the feminist band have been described as a grotesque pack of youthful, disrespectful and careless smash punk. Their debut album ‘Surf N Turf’ was released last year, and this year in February, they released the succeeding EP ‘Perfect Pitch’. Arrive early and feel the lively and rebellious energy among Copenhagen’s next generation of punk musicians!

In Atlas
In Atlas is a Copenhagen-based artist, moving in between electronic post-punk and darkwave with a dark disco sensibility. Her sound is all at once nostalgic and contemporary, and in her live shows she brings out an equal amount of intensity and vulnerability. In Atlas’ sound is shaped by Athen’s underground music scene – an uncompromising environment marked by political unrest, economical crises, and a strong DIY-culture. Last year she released her second album ‘Where The Wildflowers Grow’ (2024) on the Italian label She Lost Control. It’s an album about emotional emancipation and vulnerability as strength.
