Nausia Release Show + Sofie MMT + Emil F – FEW TICKETS LEFT

Acclaimed Copenhagen Doom-Jazz quintet celebrates album release at ALICE

Nausia has captivated and impressed audiences and critics alike, including the legendary rock journalist David Fricke, with their doom-jazz sound that shifts between spiritual, hypnotic trance and wild, euphoric outbursts. This spring, the Copenhagen quintet celebrates the release of “Finding a Circle” (Vasen, 2025) – an album that solidifies Nausia as a deeply original band in constant evolution. Sofie MMT opens the evening with her compelling art pop.

Emil F

Danish producer Emil F has been a key part of Copenhagen’s underground scene the last years, producing for artists like Uden Ord, Frederik Valentin, Nausia, and Neon Priest. His DJ sets fuse nostalgic 2010 dance music with cheeky, unexpected EDM drops.

Sofie MMT

Emotions lay bare in Sofie MMT’s universe. Behind the artist name stands songwriter, producer, and singer Sofie Thorsen. With a background in the DR Danish National Girls’ Choir, Sofie MMT merges the harmonies associated with the Danish song tradition with gritty DIY sounds, off kilter synths, and a deeply personal and direct lyrical universe. The result is grand yet vulnerable. With her heart in her hands, Sofie MMT reaches out to the audience – hoping they will catch it.

Nausia

The Copenhagen-based quintet, consisting of two saxophones, guitar, bass, and drums, defies genre boundaries. Their sound alternates between hypnotic repetition and intense, euphoric energy, drawing inspiration from alternative rock, spiritual jazz, and minimalism. In late 2021, the band released their second album, “Good Intentions”, which received critical acclaim both in Denmark and abroad. The album earned 5 stars in Gaffa and a glowing review by the legendary David Fricke in MOJO Magazine.

Now, Nausia is ready with their new album “Finding a Circle” (Vasen, 2025), which the band describes as the culmination of five years of hard work on tours and releases. Created in close collaboration with producer Jacob Günther, the album reflects a strong musical camaraderie and a desire to find solace amidst the storm of turbulent youth, climate collapse, and dystopian futures. Expect a work that is spiritual, intense, jazzy, doomy, and cohesive – cementing Nausia as a profoundly original band in constant development and one of Denmark’s most compelling jazz-rock acts. Join them at ALICE this spring to celebrate the release!

Said about Nausia

“It’s hard to beat this one” – David Fricke

“With Nausia, it’s not about technical perfection or bebop at breakneck speed. Instead, beneath all the noise, Nausia is firmly rooted in the tradition of spiritual jazz, where the ultimate goal is liberation through music. It’s about the energy, and we really got to feel it.” – Politiken
