Iceboy Violet UK

Chopped-up trap, ominous industrial and rowdy punk energy from Manchester’s simmering underground

The visionary Manchester rapper Iceboy Violet pushes against every boundary and convention with their rowdy, punk-infused performances and glitch-laden sound, pulling audiences between grime, trap, industrial and hip-hop. This March, the hyped rapper returns to ALICE with their new album How To Glitch Under The Map (Fixed Abode, 2026), which has received praise from the likes of The Line of Best Fit and Boomcat.

It’s hard not to be swept away by Iceboy Violet’s ominous, futuristic rap, which fuses influences from grime, trap, industrial, glitch and punk with autotuned vocals and deeply personal lyricism. With a self-proclaimed mission to create a space for personal and collective escapism through their music, the hyped Manchester rapper delivers an intense live performance that moves from manic punk outbursts to intimate, tender moments.

Iceboy Violet’s sound is unmistakably Mancunian, and they are also an integral part of the iconic venue The White Hotel, which sits at the heart of the city’s thriving experimental underground. They have played countless shows there themselves, but are just as often found in the audience, catching performances by like-minded artists such as Klein, Bunny and Space Africa. Other collaborators include Rainy Miller and Florence Sinclair, who featured on the album Not a Dream But a Controlled Explosion (2023). Iceboy Violet has also released music on the influential label Hyperdub and performed at Berlin’s Intonal, Rewire and ALICE, as well as at venues and festivals across the UK, Europe and Asia. This spring, Iceboy Violet returns to our stage with their new album How To Glitch Under The Map (2026), which has received praise from the likes of The Line of Best Fit and Boomcat.
