Punk quartet Blanco Teta combines abrasive noiserock, performance and activism in an explosive sound that challenges norms around bodies, gender and musical form, with a distorted cello at its centre. Experience them live in the set design of SORT/HVID’s theatre production BAD MEXICAN DOG this November.

Blanco Teta create an immersive live experience where punk and noise collide, channelling a fierce political agenda into intense bursts of sound and confrontational performance. With an unconventional rock setup that forgoes the guitar in favour of a distorted cello at its centre, the band moves between the melodic, the noisy and the physical. Their music is closely connected to a transfeminist practice, where body, gender and identity become integral parts of the artistic expression. Blanco Teta have performed at festivals including Roskilde Festival, Le Guess Who? and Fusion Festival, and can now be experienced in the unique setting of the BAD MEXICAN DOG set.

SORT/HVID x ALICE = friends with benefits
Friends with benefits is a collaboration between the live venue ALICE and SORT/HVID. Over three Fridays, ALICE curates concerts taking place within the set design of SORT/HVID’s production BAD MEXICAN DOG – a surreal, ritualistic charter-flight hellscape based on Jonas Eika’s sci-fi short story of the same name from the award-winning collection Efter Solen. Three international bands are invited to explore the set and interpret it through their own musical and performative practices. The set thus becomes more than a backdrop for the concerts – it becomes an active part of the experience, where music, body, ritual and space intertwine.
