Summer is upon us, and so is ALICE Summer Series – our open-air concerts with cold drinks and summer vibes galore, taking place in the courtyard between ALICE and UNION Fridays and Saturdays, from May and throughout August.
At this event, three exciting Danish projects will take us on an auditive journey through fantasy worlds, Danish island churches and deep into the healing powers of vocal music.
Ø-værker for små danske orgler
Sofie Voight and Frederik Ebert, the duo behind the project Ø-værker for små danske orgler, spent lockdown collecting organ soundbytes from small churches all around a multitude of Danish islands. On this day, they will present electronic, dusty, and poetic interpretations of their field recordings, including tracks from the releases Græshave #1 and Nyord #2, as well as improvisations based on new material recorded on Bornholm.
ilinx
With inspiration medieval church music and 00’s r’n’b divas, ilinx creates a very special vocal space. The group, consisting of Anna Sophie Mæhl, Laura Marie Madsen, and Amanda Appel, believe in the bodily powers of vocals to heal and create connections between people. Expect exact choral compositions, pop passages, and interpretations of new as well as old works.
Myriam
Behind the name Myriam is Alfred Jacob Bévort and Asger Langberg Søndergaard, who released their debut album last year. Myriam manipulates acoustic instruments to create lyrical, transformative fairytales. The music flows between control and chaos, always curious and driven by the desire to experiment.
Practical info about ALICE Summer Series
Under the title ALICE Summer Series, we present open-air concerts Fridays and Saturdays from May and throughout August. We’ve moved the bar outside as well, and we make sure to follow all current COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions. Luckily, recent changes in the restrictions allow our guests to stand during the concerts – though we’ve of course made sure there are plenty of benches in the yard so you can rest your legs. Food from our friends at Send Flere Krydderier will be available, and the courtyard opens at 4pm, so stop by early for a beer and a chat in the sun.
Please note that a valid corona passport is required to enter the courtyard! We recommend you purchase a ticket in advance as this makes it easier for us to contact you regarding infection tracking. Please also note that we accept credit card and MobilePay at the bar, but not cash.
