In the early 1970s, avantgarde jazz trumpeter Don Cherry was living with his artist wife Moki and their children Eagle-Eye, David og Neneh Cherry in a free jazz commune in Southern Sweden. Organic Music Societies celebrates their utopian experiments. In cooperation with NY curators Blank Forms, Gong Tomorrow will revisit a previously overlooked yet creatively abundant era in which multicultural music and art was seamlessly incorporated into everyday life. This series of concerts unites several central figures from the 1970’s in a spontaneous and liberating musical setting, crossing musical genres as well as continents.
Note: The concert is a part of Gong Tomorrow 2021 and will take place at Bellahøj Outdoor Stage. The concert is free of charge, but you need to book a free ticket via Billetto.
