In a third and final collaboration between ALICE and Noisy Beehive this year, the art collective will present an explosive concert by free-rock band The HUM with the visuals by Matei Petrescu. The evening will start with the sonic performance “Movement for Static Action”.
Saxophonist Henrik Pultz Melbye, guitarist Henrik Olsson, bassist Nicolai Kaas Claesson and drummer Rune Lohse form the quartet The HUM. All musicians are well known for their activities on the Copenhagen experimental scene. Together they form a vital free form rock collective using strategies of improvisation without getting caught in the clichés of improv and free jazz music.
PM is the alter ego of visual artist Matei Petrescu who have worked with a different setup almost every month for the past 5 years. PM uses a blend of software’s, where his raw footage, taken with a camera in some secluded spots is edited and then modified live accordingly to the sounds and the space by layering and mapping each segment of the “canvas”.
Great Danes is a performance and sound experimentation duo, formed by David Sebastian Lopez Restrepo (Colombia) and Gianluca Elia (Italy). Movement for a static action is a sound performance where the artists explore ideas about life in contemporary society through physical exercise and programming practice. They construct a sonic environment that is built upon mechanic and organic noise, an amplified static bicycle and a stepper. Movement for Static Action was performed for the first time at a Noisy Beehive event in 2019, and later it was selected for the 2020 performance program at Statens Museum for Kunst as part of the exhibition “Unboxing. The Goodiepal Collection”.
