The American musician and front figure of Glitterbeat Records will perform at ALICE this Spring accompanied by the two talented Slovenian musicians Blaž Celarec on drums and Žiga Golob on double bass. Eckman is bringing his new solo album. Luna Ersahin (AySay) will open the night with a solo set.

The American Slovenia-based musician Chris Eckman is known by many from groups like The Walkabouts, Dirtmusic, Distance, Light & Sky, and also as the front figure of the global and vital label Glitterbeat Records, whose amazing artists have been performing at ALICE several times. But Eckman has also been working on his solo career for years. 

His fifth solo album “Where the Spirit Rests” (Glitterhouse Records, 2021) grew out of a personal crisis and is as well a deep dive into the vagaries of these extraordinary times. Eckman’s luminous songwriting navigates loss, disorientation, redemption and the search for home. Recorded raw and direct with a small ensemble, the record is framed by expansive sonic textures: treated strings, analogue synth drones and ambient guitars. Eckman will perform at ALICE featuring the virtuous Blaž Celarec on drums and Žiga Golob on double bass. We can’t wait to present the trio this Spring!
