Since 2017, the Copenhagen doom-rock trio SLIM0 (Simin Ramezanali, Lena Milovic, and Mija Milovic) has been scratching at the polished surface of the Danish music scene with vital, rebellious songs and intense live performances, establishing themselves as one of the most significant bands in the Danish underground. After the EP Sol i øjet (2020), recorded in collaboration with figures such as Peter Peter, expectations for the Danish-Montenegrin-Iranian group have been high. SLIM0 has now finally released their highly anticipated debut album, FORGIVENESS (15 Love, 2024), which, through minimalist, forceful arrangements and unsentimental lyrics, engages with an era of decay, pain, and disorder.
FORGIVENESS’s 17 tracks reflect an emotional landscape of the 2020s. The album opens with a wild, piercing scream and the track title, “Stars! I’m Coming!” The frenzied beginning quickly gives way to a darker and more heartfelt world, where SLIM0 creates scenes filled with characters and narratives that shift between humor and tragedy, held together by the trio’s deep roots in classic rock expressions, beautiful string arrangements, sharp storytelling, and vocal harmonies that raise goosebumps. FORGIVENESS was brought to life through live jams and recordings, distilled to their purest form by producer Aase Nielsen (Posh Isolation, World Music). The result is raw and shaped by SLIM0’s intense synergy—a musical expression that embraces hardcore, pop cultural references, and an atmosphere of noisy ambivalence. In February, SLIM0 will present FORGIVENESS in an extended orchestral setup featuring Agnete Hannibal (15 Love) on cello, Johan Polder (Collider, GM) on bass, and Aase Nielsen (Boli Group, synd & skam) on saxophone, keys, and guitar—all of whom were part of the album’s creation.
The concert is part of Vinterjazz 2025—a nationwide festival taking place from February 1-23. More info at www.jazz.dk.
