Spooky-J and pq corrupt the Nilotica Cultural Ensemble with techno sensibilities and a whole load of darkness! Nihiloxica creates a darker take on traditional Bugandan drumming. The band is comprised of seven percussionists with instruments such as djembe, Namunjoloba and binghi togehter with one kit drummer combined with an analog synth player.
After two EP’s on the hyped Ugandian label Nyege Nyege Tapes, Nihiloxica released their breathtaking debut album “Kaloli” on Crammed Discs in 2020. All sails were set for them to conquer dance floors and festivals all over the world, but then things started to close down.
Here we are in 2021 and Nihiloxica are ready to make you dance. They did a brilliant performance at ALICE back in 2019, and in October they return to Copenhagen – this time with a new EP containing remixes of tracks off “Kaloli”.
Note: The show has been moved to Mayhem and the two acts Rear and Highboy have been added as support.
