The Brazilian singer-songwriter, Leo Middea, is a young artist with a big future. With a velvety voice and boldly honest song lyrics, he brings a modern take on bossa and samba canção steeped in old-school soul. ALICE can’t wait to present him this May at Valby Kulturhus for a tropical night to remember. An absolutely must for fans of Brazilian folk music.
The concert takes place in Valby Kulturhus.
Having found his voice at an early age, 26 year old Leo Middea is a young artist with a big future. Brought up on a wide range of music from tropicalism, bossa and samba, as from Caetano Veloso, Cartola and Jorge Ben, Leo’s music is steeped in old-school soul. He’s got a velvety voice and writes songs with boldly honest lyrics.
Leo Middea released his fourth studio album ” Beleza Isolar ” last year. This album exposes Middea’s singer and songwriter prowess, delivering his most intimate and daring music created at a time of great conflicts and great transformations (pandemic). Despite this, the sounds are tinged with Middea’s infectious positivity. His music is sunny music for cloudy days, so to speak. Leo Middea was born in the suburb of Rio de Janeiro and has lived in Lisbon for the past four years. Middea’s draws inspiration from these different identities in songs like “Suburbio” as he dreams of so many things at once and so many places in one. Singer and composer of almost all the songs, he claims the right to freedom, dream and love. ALICE is eager to present Middea at Valby Kulturhus this May.
