Messell

Messell plays glitch/noise-ambient based on sampled fragments from mainly classical music, cell-phone recordings and analogue and digital synthesizers. It results in a dynamic and immersive soundscape which aspires to constantly balance the coherent and transcendent on the one hand with the fragmented and broken on the other. Messell is the solo project of Copenhagen-based composer and producer Martin Messell, who is also active as part of the impro-ambient project Esther.
