Lebanese duo Praed (Paed Conca + Raed Yassin) and Egyptian musical explorer Maurice Louca are coming together for a new collaboration exploring microtonality and polyrhythms. As part of ALICE Works, ALICE has the honour of inviting some the finest experimentalists on the Arab music scene for a residency, where they will develop brand new music to be performed at ALICE’ current location, Musikhuset København. Praed and Louca share a common interest in fusing traditional Middle Eastern genres with experimental electronics and psychedelic jazz. Both acts have visited ALICE in the past, and we’re truly delighted to present brand new music from this fantastic combo as the closing act of this crazy year.

ALICE Works was born from an Open Call initiative launched by ALICE during the COVID-19 lockdown in early 2021. An attempt at developing new music, collaborations and experimental formats in a time of crisis. The concert series will present both Danish and international artists chosen via the Open Call process and will take place during 2021 and 2022.
