European Folk Day: Romane Danish Star MK/KV/DK – Free Concert

Swinging Romani wedding music from the Balkan region

Come and get carried away as Romane Danish Star takes over ALICE with their swinging take on Romani wedding music from the Balkan region. They’ve filled many a celebration with love, joyful tunes, and danceable classics, and this evening in Nørrebro will be no exception. The concert is free and part of European Folk Day, arranged by Tempi.

Romane Danish Star is a 4-piece ensemble steeped in the traditions of Romani wedding music from around the Balkans. Inspired by legends such as Saban Bajramovic and Esma Redjepova, the Sabani brothers Ferdi (saxophone), Sevki (keyboards) and Senad (violin and vocals) joined by percussionist Faruk Demiri perform classics in the style of today, incorporating electronic sounds, arrangements infused with pop and jazz elements, and blazing tempos that highlight their exceptional improvisational skills. Fans of Amza Tairov, Ivo Papasov and Dzafer & Ork Neco King do not want to miss this Danish treasure.

The concert is free and part of European Folk Day. Please book a ticket via the link below.
