Afenginn Matiné

Bastard ethno and nordic chamber folk

Dear audience,

The current COVID-19 restrictions have been prolonged untill February 28. This means that all culture institutions have to remain closed, and it means that all concerts at ALICE in February are cancelled. Sadly this also means that the show with Afenginn has to be cancelled. We’re working on an alternative date. In the meantime, ticket holders will automatically receive a refund from Billetto and don’t have to do anything further.
You can read more about the current COVID-19 status at ALICE here: https://alicecph.com/en/corona/

Show #01: 15:00 doors / 16:00 concert

Show #02: 19:00 doors / 20:00 concert

Widely regarded as one of Denmark’s greatest live bands, Afenginn started out with a sound fusing Nordic folk music with elements of klezmer and Balkan sounds. Since then band leader Kim Nyberg has taken the band on a bold journey to explore a much more cinematic and richly orchestrated sound and has turned Afenginn into one of the most adventurous groups in Denmark – a powerful unit that explores a universe between neo-folk, chamber music and prog rock.

Afenginn have performed in many areas of the world and have released seven acclaimed albums. We’re proud to present two intimate concerts with them at ALICE for Vinterjazz 2021.
