Having created a name for himself with a personal blend of alt-country and nordic folk, Kjartan Bue recently teamed up with free improv player and producer Jeppe Højgaard to embark on a journey that would take his songwriting into new territory.
While still rooted in a folk oriented universe, the songs have morphed into a more unpredictable universe drawing on psych folk, jazz and global music. And to fulfill the visionary music, Bue has assembled a band of excellent musicians.
In November the debut full length album, “Musse”, will be released, and to mark the release, Bue and his band will play a concert at ALICE. The band consists of Anders Vestergaard (Girls In Airports, Boujeloud, Jacob Anderskov) on drums, Nicolai Claesson (Melt, Horse Orchestra, Frk Jacobsen) on bass/guitar and Jeppe Højgaard on saxophone/keys. Together with Bue on guitar and vocal they will create a highly versatile and rich music to back up the strong songwriting.
