It is with a heavy heart that we have to cancel the concert with Bulgarian Voices Angelite at Christians Kirke on September 24th. This is because the choir has had to cancel their entire tour. All tickets will be refunded via Billetto. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope to be able to invite Bulgarian Voices Angelite back to Copenhagen soon again.

ALICE is proud to present a unique evening with one of the most iconic choirs in the Bulgarian women choir tradition. Sublime harmonies will fill the stunning space of Christian’s Church, when Bulgarian Voices Angelite gives an a capella performance in September.

Their voices are fascinating, their style of singing and ornamentation is archaic, distinctive and rooted in centuries of local tradition. The Bulgarian Voices Angelite stands for the worldwide spread of the famous Bulgarian women choir singing for 25 years. Their international success (with shows at the Nobel Prize Award and the Red Square in Moscow among others) and the non breaking international fascination throughout the years shows their uniqueness and quality. The choir is among the most renowned ensembles in the categories of Balkan and Bulgarian folk music. It was formed as a private choir  from the ashes of the old State Television Choir, dating back to 1952, by the State Choir’s manager: Tanja Andreeva. The group comprises two dozen female singers from across the nation under the leadership of Georgy Petkov.

The Bulgarian choir tradition has fascinated audiences for years and has inspired artists such as Kate Bush and Dead Can Dance. Without doubt, Bulgarian Voices Angelite are among the finest performers in the genre and any fan of this otherworldly music should not miss this chance.
